LÉO MOREAU
Léo Moreau is an International Facilitator experienced launching Sport for Life in new countries.
Léo was first involved in the Sport for Life project in Cabo Verde in 2017, thanks to the collaboration between SportImpact and the Cabo Verde Olympic Committee (COC). In that year he participated in a train-the-trainer in Praia, translated the Sport for Life Manual, partially to English and entirely to French, and contributed in the organization and implementation of two M-Olympics initiatives (with a focus on gender equality) in Cabo Verde.
In 2018 he co-facilitated the Sport for Life Launch Project in Mozambique, planting the seeds to start spreading the movement in the third country after Timor-Leste and Cabo Verde. He subsequently followed up with Mozambique graduates to ensure the best practical results possible. He also coordinated the translation of the Sport for Life Manual & Startup Kit to Spanish, making it easier to take the project to the whole Latin America. He went on to lead Sport for Life launch initiatives in Guinea-Bissau and Zambia in 2021 and in São Tomé and Principe and Botswana in 2022.
Léo had several previous experiences in sport. During the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games he worked for the State Government of Minas Gerais in Brazil, organizing the stay of multiple Olympic delegations (Great Britain, China, Ireland, Canada, …) and implementing an economic, commercial and cultural program to use sport and Olympism as tools for developing communities. He also had earlier experiences in sport associations in France.
Léo completed two Master Degrees: on International Cooperation and Development at the University of Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris, and on Strategic and Project Management at the Political Studies Institute (Sciences Po) of Rennes, France.
Fluent in French, English, Spanish and Portuguese, Léo also speaks Cape-verdean Creole. He has lived in France, Argentina, Brazil and Cabo Verde, and has visited more than 20 countries. He is fond of travelling in general, football, which he practiced for 12 years, basketball and mountain hiking.
