Dear friends, thanks so much for all the words of support as I recover from the foot injury after Bali marathon!

At SportImpact we always deliver, and in our ‘Just Do It’ spirit it was very difficult for me to consider the possibility that I might not be physically able to run the 2nd promised marathon on October 9th. I am very happy to share that I will surely run the Dili marathon! 

It will be awesome to run at home (start/finish line just 1 km away!), with friends running and cheering. The course is flat, easier than the hilly one in Bali, but it will be hotter and with less water stations along the 42km… My shape is not as good as before Bali due to the 42km 3 weeks ago followed by a break with no running, and I will need to pay attention to my foot, but I trust I can run close to the 3-hour pace.

I’ve been using a variety of exercises on my left foot (I don’t think I ever dedicated so much attention to a body part!) and the pain has diffused into a “sensation”. I started running little by little and found that actually running was more comfortable than walking! Last week I gradually increased kms, with a test of 28 km yesterday, and a total of 90 km in the week. Uff! My leg muscles are tired again, as they should be 3 weeks before the Dili marathon, and the foot is not 100% but has been improving despite all the running!
